There are some very interesting observations in this interview. I have, for example, always found it a bit odd that our industry on the one hand denigrates the 'pharma' industry and the 'need' for scientific validation in the application of health claims to nutrients and, on the other, immediatly jumps on and uses any claim or hint of a claim that might appear in any scientific journal.
We tend to use what we like and reject the rest and it is something that our industry, having achieved the size we now enjoy, must come to grips with.
This is not to say that 'science' and the scientific method is the only manner of viewing the natural products industry. If, however, we want to influence regulators then first we have to understand where they come from and then we have to compose our case in language that they will understand.
